Arthur Miller

The article located at http://web.ebscohost.com.lib.chandleraz.gov/lrc/detail?hid=15&sid=48e31ca8-3e6e-414b-b948-c130293440e4%40sessionmgr10&vid=2&bdata=JnNpdGU9bHJjLWxpdmU%3d#db=lfh&AN=103331CWA25259810000952 provides a short summary of Arthur Miller's life. It talks about he hardships of his family, in particular the hardships his father endured as a businessman. This article discusses the characterization of Willy Loman from Miller's story Death of a Salesman. I plan to use this source to provide evidence for two of my claims. One being that Arthur Miller puts his characters in hopeless situations and leaves them with tragic endings. The other being that Miller portrays aspects of his own life into his writing and, being a characteristic of his writing, must therefore agree with the idea that life is hopeless.
